Let’s imagine that it’s seven years from now. You could still be in Ottawa, or you could be somewhere completely unexpected. Perhaps there are little feet running around, keeping you busy.
But they are in bed now, and as the two of you wind down after a long day you catch a glimpse of your wedding album, and pull it out. As you look through it together, you are suddenly transported back to one of the happiest days of your lives. You squeeze each other’s hands a bit tighter.
Now it’s your 15 year anniversary, and you’re surrounded by all the friends and family that have come to help celebrate. Your album is passed from hand to hand as everyone laughs and relives the memories of your wedding day.
Now imagine it’s 25 years from today, and you’re preparing for another big day in the history of your family: the wedding of a son or a daughter, a niece or a nephew. You pull out your album and go through it with the couple-to-be, marvelling at how different things looked back then and talking about everything that happened…even the things you had forgotten until one of the photos brought it all back.
Later that evening, when you’re at home alone, you pull out one of your most treasured possession: your parents wedding album. You see the joy on their faces as they began their journey through life together. You think of the adventure that awaits the young couple-to-be, and you smile.
This is what wedding photography is to me. And it’s my honour to provide it for you.
