When I was in grade 7 my junior high school trip took me to Quebec City to learn about history. And how do you keep the average 11 year old interested in history? Turn it into a game: we were set loose on a “scavenger hunt” to identify various bits of the old city given a list of clues.
Why am I telling you this? Because one of those hints was to find “the church with the ship hanging from the ceiling.” Now I don’t have many clear memories of that trip (grade seven was a while ago!) but as soon as I walked into the Notre Dame des Victoires for Isabelle’s wedding and saw the ship hanging from the ceiling it all came flooding back in a wave of memories.
All that is to say that if you’re interested in getting married in a church steeped in Canadian history, this is it. It’s situated in the heart of Old Quebec City, surrounded by winding cobblestone streets. The interior is bright and the staff friendly. A gorgeous venue for any wedding.
