The Arboretum is an Ottawa treasure. Located adjacent to Dow’s Lake, it is what the name implies: a park covered in a huge variety of different trees, from groves of tall pines on the hilltop to weeping willows found near the meandering creek, from stands of oaks to a tree so huge it has other trees helping it to support itself. Cherry blossoms light up in the spring, and the maples leaves light up in the fall. And to top it off it’s bordered by the Rideau Canal.

It’s hard to beat.
